Replacement key can’t start the car

Hey scotty, I got a replacement key for my car as I've lost my original key for my 2009 Pontiac G5 before I brought it to a locksmith to make a spare. Now my replacement key will turn in the ignition but it won't turn on my car. I also have a flip folding fob key that is programmed to my car but the key on it wasn't cut. Is it possible to cut my fob key that's programmed and use that?

Do you mean that the new key your locksmith made, does NOT have an attached/integrated key fob with a transponder?

Well either your new key doesn't have a transponder in it or it has a broken one or it wasn't programmed to work with the car. Take it back to the locksmith with the car

I bought the key from a dealership, then brought it to the locksmith because the key cutter at the dealership wasn't in that day. The dealership gave me a antitheft key that has the plus sign on the side. Trying to program the new key but coming up short. Found at least a dozen different ways to program the key.
