Reusing Car Air filter

Can you reuse a car engine air filter after washing it? Of course you’d have to let the air filter dry before putting it in or else the engine will suck in water.

No, not unless you have a specialty filter which typically uses oil. If you washed an average disposable filter it's worthless now.

No, it's not worth all of that hassle. To top it off, air filters are made of a kind of paper, and they're not intended to get wet. All you'll end up with is a mess. Just replace the air filter. I have a cold air intake in my Mustang, the filter media is technically reusable, but I'll just buy a new one.
