What is your experience with rotary engines as a mechanic and a driving enthusiast? My understanding is that they are pretty niche and unless you know how to work on them yourself or know someone who has extensive experience, you want to stay away from vehicles with this kind of engine.

This is a rotary engine. It's used in large aircraft. I'd love to see someone try to put that in a car.
You probably mean a Wankel engine.It's a novelty that Nissan dabbles in. It's unproven, and not terribly reliable.
