Hello , i have a 1955 ford customline  , with a 302 Ford mustang motor, I replaced the fuel filter and the fuel pump, replace transmission, have a brand new Edelbrock carburetor and a brand new alternator. My question is car starts up nicely. I adjusted the carburetor, but it still dies out , I see the fuel going through into the carburetor through my  K/N filter but she hesitate and she sputters. I have not changed the spark plugs yet. Could that be an issue? Thank you. {black}:excitement:

What model Edelbrock? The 1406 (600 CFM) seems to be a popular choice but some say that flows too much air for a stock 302 and the 1403 (500 CFM) is a better fit for that engine. Others say the 1406 works great. For example:

Any vacuum leaks? You'll definitely want to make sure the ignition system is up to snuff and timing is OK. You didn't say what year 302 it is or whether the ignition is points or electronic.

This video shows a successful installation of an Edelbrock 1406 carb on a Ford 302 V8 engine in a '47 F-100. Aside from the throttle linkage probably being different it should be pretty much the same as your installation:
