201O Lexus RX 350 running 5000 rpms @70mph. Isn’t that too high? What could be wrong?

Your transmission is not shifting into high gear, maybe not the top two gears. When is the last time fluid and filter were changed?

Stupid question, but have you verified the transmission shifter is in D? Overdrive button (if any) is selected on.
Any dashboard lights flashing?

Yes sounds like the beginning of a failing transmission

Should be around 3000 rpm.
