- My once garage kept all electric lift and windows wheelchair van is rusting out. It has 167k but it's what I need. A 1998 Econoline150 is still fair. Recently I saw zinc attachments being replaced in a boat screw and I recalled attaching Zinc to a steel auto body will help it from rusting. I want to get your thoughts on this matter informing how much, proper placement and if you would recommend trying some. Your folower, JJ

Wow that zinc won't help you in a car. That stuff can be used in a boat because the boats float in salt water and it's completely different environment. I talked to an engineer about that once and he said unless your car floats in the ocean that stuff's useless LP
