Got hit a couple months ago T bone accident. I was driving 94 mustang.

no. 90's volvos are designed on 70's platforms and many crash tests prove that you will get obliterate in that. Stick to liek 2004+ Volvo's and they will be the safest car's you ever owned.

Yeah that is correct and obvious. It is evident but please watch crash tests of "large car vs small car" into youtube and you will see a 90's Volvo vs New Renault Crash on Fifth gear. I personally wouln't shell out money on an older volvo. You are correct though, they are solid built but for the time. A 15 year old xc90 could compete in safety with 2020 cars but those older ones are REALLY old.
If you want to rely on a TV show for a crash test rather than real world data, I have nothing to tell you.

The safest car I know of is the Chevrolet Vega. First you had to get it moving on it’s own power before could get into a accident. Seriously, RetOldPro has the best advice

Volvo's. But not the old ones. 90s volvos are designed on 70s platforms. Stick to like 2004+ to get a decently reliable and safe one. The XC90 and XC70 are some of the safest. There are also car's based on Volvo's that are very safe, like the Ford Fusion, Ford Flex, and Mazda 6. Volvo s40 --> that is %60 a Ford Focus so not that safe (i know right ur shocked). Volvo's are the way to go. Newer car's are mostly very safe I mean a 2017+ CR-V is very safe, a new Kia or Mazda would be safe.
