Hi there!
I have a 2011 Scion tC automatic with 55k miles on it. I just bought it about a year ago. Now the transmission is whining a good bit when accelerating. Is this normal? Should I be worried or have it looked at?
Also, when I’m sitting at idle with the AC on (in gear or parked) there is a weird sound that is like a rattle mixed with like a suction sound. The AC works great, but the noise is a bit embarrassing.
And another question…when I go to a carwash, the cabin air filter gets soaked and doesn’t allow air flow with the climate control. I take it out and it’s fine, but if I go for a car wash without the air filter in, then soapy water comes into the car below the glovebox. I have cleaned the AC drain plug, but is there a drain at the air intake by the windshield that might be clogged?
I appreciate your help! Thank you!

yes. open the hood and see where the cowl drains
