Scotty I love your YouTube channel and I decided to come to your wekbsite. I have a 2005 Ford F150. There are many people on YouTube saying that the 5.4 Triton engine is under engineered piece of junk. The guides for the timing chains wear down and get plastic pieces in your engine and the time in chain rides on the water pump getting metal pieces in the engine. I bought this truck from a friend of mine and this very thing happened it has a new engine in it and I would like some suggestions on how I can avoid this happening again.
You can't. Keep an ear out for any rattling noises on cold startup. Change your oil and filter regularly and consider replacing the timing set at approximately every 120K miles, whether it needs it or not.
