replacing Scion auto transmission

I have a 07 Scion tC auto transmission that has surface corrosion around the surface plating of the bell housing and also the oil pan. Bought it for 100 bucks from a pick-a-part. They said there was nothing wrong and that it has 104,000 miles on it. Doesn’t seem to have bad pitting. The one In it started leaking from the bell housing so the changed the tq converter seal but it still leaks. Should I use this one or the old one?

please refrain from SHOUTING AT SCOTTY IN THE TITLE! and instead describe your issue. Thanks.

surface corrosion in a casting absolutely doesn't matter. It's only job is to hold the transmission to the engine and that 1/2" of cast metal will last centuries.
