Hey Scotty,

In a couple videos some time ago (it was this year 2023) you said Toyota was going to bring a small truck to the US (smaller than the Tacoma).   Yet, I haven’t found anything to substantiate this.  Do I have earwax in my ears and heard you wrong or did you misspeak?  You said this a couple times, and just trying to get clarification.

.

Thank you.

TLDR: "Little Toyota Truck" is a debunked rumor.

I also hopped it would be true.

  • "Toyota Isn’t Planning Small Truck Even Though Dealers Want It"

"Automotive News speculated that the intention is to have the truck on sale in 2027 at the earliest. However, AN has now received clarification from a company official that a compact ute is not on the agenda"

"Toyota Motor North America's Group Vice President and General Manager, David Christ, said: "We don't have anything planned."

But, Although Toyota has confirmed they will NOT market a small Maverick sized truck,

There's a confirmed slightly smaller mid-size pickup truck - but you'll probably not like it.

"Toyota intends to bring electrification to its pickup truck lineup in the near future, including (...) BEV powertrains" (source)

The concept is a foot shorter than the ongoing Tacoma (source),

so probably about 2' shorter than the new disappointing turbo-only 2025 generation Tacoma (source).

It's coming sometime 2025, and it's name is "Toyota Stout" (source)
