Hi Scotty;
I'm getting ready to go out and look for a really great used car to purchase.
Please give me some pointers before I go out there. I know there is a machine I can purchase. It plugs into the car somehow. Do you have a link to this machine? Thx!

There is no "machine" that "plugs into the car somehow" that will definitively tell you if the car is any good. Of course an OBD2 scan tool can check codes and data, but you have to know what to look for.
You really need to pay a good mechanic to do a thorough inspection of the car before you buy it.
