Shop ripped me off…what can I do?

Took my 17 Chevy traverse in as I was having troubles with traction control and weird battery related issues. Causing me to have to unplug the battery at night or it’d drain. Took it to a shop and they changed the spark plugs and did not fix the issue.

paid $500. Paid with a credit card. In Indiana. Shop is an independent and the individual is rude as heck. I planned on maybe recording the call between the shop owner as I’m in a one party state. And using his alsmot admission to justify the refund on my credit card. Any other suggestions?

he does not have a website to access his warranty. I know I should have checked before hand. Not my car and entrusted the individual to have asked or done it so I do not know it. But Firestone offers one too yet they are like insurance companies when it comes to trying to get your money.

Well here's the legal problem. If you signed an agreement that allowed him to work on your car, you have no way out unless he didn't actually fix it or broke something else. Now if you didn't sign any kind of agreement allowing him to work in the car and he charged it for stuff you didn't. Okay then you've got another story. You'd hire a lawyer then

@scottykilmer the agreement was verbal. signed for by a relative who used my card(for rewards).he did not fix the issue but repalced more than likely good parts. he is a replace a part mechanic i am guessing. did not break anything else i know of.

Will try to reason with the owner to see if hed refund. the younger brother said they refund if you bring it in twice and they cannot fix the issue. I do not trust them. They do not sound knowledagable, now that i involved myself i am finding this out.

I will try reasoning with him. filling a dispute with my CC with the most evidence i can gather. And if a lawyer will be my last resort... Financially isnt worth it.

Thank you for your time! Learned a lot from your channel!
