Just bought a 2002 Monte Carlo 3.8 v6 215k miles

Engine sounds smooth with no problem.

Can I put Lucas low viscosity oil stabilizer? Just want keep the car maintenance.

If it’s shifting ok and fluid is clear I wouldn’t mess with it immediately. I would plan on doing a pan fluid and filter change. Get junk outta the pan, new filter. Then add the Lucas if you plan on keeping the car awhile. Lucas is thicker and stickier than normal fluid. Dumping it in on a “unknown” filter could end up clogging the filter if it’s close to being clogged already. Then ya lose all pressure and bye bye clutches.

Yep, sure was. Lol. Read to fast. But luckily it still applies. 🤣
