I have a 08 Mitsubishi Lancer no turbo and the engine oil cold is kinda black and looks and feels like there’s coolant mixing with the oil but if the car is at operating temperature the oil is pretty much brand new and feels brand new. The head gasket was replaced not long ago just because the timing chain stretched way too much. The coolant seems to at the same level. What could this possibly be?
If you don’t drive the car much on the highway, you may have condensation in the oil, as long as you don’t loose coolant or oil, you should be fine.
Yes it could be that I was thinking of that too. In fact I never driven this car over 40 MPH and I never drove it on the highway and the car could usually sit a week and a half until I drive another 3 miles.
It is a good idea to drive once in a while on highway for about 1 hour to avoid carbon build up and moisture accumulation on the oil.
I wish I could take it on the highway but the car is not registered and I still have to wait two more years until I could get my permit.
