Should I buy a 2008 Ford Fusion with high mileage?

Hey Team,

I came across a used 2008 Ford Fusion on Offer Up from a private seller asking $1300 and willing to take $900 lowest with a clean title, and mileage is 412,854 miles.  From the pictures, the car seems to be in good condition and the seller says the car only needs a starter that she has ordered with no other mechanical issues.

I know Scotty has recommended that certain cars are good and will still run great with this mileage but is this 2008 ford fusion one of them?

it's a lot of miles, but at that price you can't expect much. If it last a year it would still be worth it. Just make sure it's not a total clunker. Before you get too carried away, wait for the new starter to be installed then make sure it starts and runs. Get a mechanic to give it a once over. You don't want to be stuck with a wreck in a months time, and $6k bill for new transmission or something.

Thank you, MountainManJoe!

No.

Amazing it reached that mileage. Probably won't go much farther.
