Hey Scotty, I'm looking at a 1994 toyota 4runner. It's got a 3 liter v6 with a 5 speed manual. The guy wants 3200 but it has 278k miles. The guy just put in new front ball joints and tie rods, new clutch slave and master cylinder, and front fenders. The car has a nice lift and doesn't have a spec of rust on the undercarriage. He says it runs great and I know an old toyota can last forever. I'm trying to make it my first car, I'm just wondering if it could be a good decision.
Wayyy too money and mileage look for another example plenty out there!
No.
If you could get it for $2000 maybe. Toyotas do last forever but 278k miles is still a lot of miles. In California that car could sell for 10k. People think just cus it is a toyota it will last 500k miles. Sure it might but probably will only last 300-350k
If you want to work on something and learn, yea but I personally wouldn't give over $500 for a common vehicle that old to do that (learn).
