My mechanic friend is trying to sell his 2006 Nissan Altima with the 4 cylinder 2.5 liter engine because he just bought a new Altima. He offered it to me for 500 it has about 190,000 miles and I know he is very conservative driver who babies his car. He’s an honest mechanic.
it won’t be my primary car because I own a 2016 Sentra maybe it could be a fun toy to have for 500 dollars

That's about 1 monthly payment on a new one.
So, if it lasts 2 months you are way ahead.
$500 is nothing for a car. Go ahead and use it as a knock-around car, but don't daily drive it and put a whole bunch of money into it.
See below for issues: don’t expect much life left out of it. Up to you how you want to spend the $500, but personally I would just pass on it.
