Hey everyone, I have an almost 300k miles 2006 GX470 in Excellent condition and want to upgrade to a newer Sequoia as for trips I may need more space and I really like the 2nd gen Sequoia been looking for one at that price range for a while usually they are at about 10-15k for 2008-2010 models. I live in the gulf and the cheapest Sequoia I found in the market here we agreed with the seller on 8100 $ on a 2008 Sequoia private party done about 260,000 miles. The car drives nice and looks very good expect few scratches which is normal for a 15 year old car. When I brought mechanics and car specialists for the pre purchase inspection here are the notes or issues the car has:
- Minor Engine oil leak ( from right head of the engine)
- Oil leak between engine and transmission
- Radiator regular water need to be replaced by coolant
- Minor oil leak between 4x4 and Transmission
- Engine oil is consumed
- Oil leak from 4x4 (Transfer case)
- Two computer codes:
1. B1424 Circuit Of Driver Side Solar Sensor Current
2.B1421 Circuit Of Passenger Side Solar Sensor
Are these issues easily repairable? Or would it cost a fortune and I should pass on it?
Would appreciate your response and thanks in advance
Not trying to be crass, but couldn't you ask your experts for an estimate to fix some or all these issues? Then you would have the information to weigh the pros or cons of buying this 2008 Sequoia at the asking price or counter with an offer of a lower price using this evidence.
These specialists told me to bring it to a mechanic they don't want to give any estimates because they need to check spare parts prices, seals etc.. And that is not their field
