2012 Corolla 80k miles clean title per Carfax. Dealership is asking 12k. I am considering financing only because I don't have enough for a decent car from a private party.

Dealer is a big red flag, especially if a BHPH ("Buy Here Pay Here") bottom feeder. Price sounds too high for an 11-year-old Corolla, even KBB's inflated pricing puts it at least $1000 less for a dealer sale, and that's assuming 80K miles is correct. (At a more typical mileage for a car that age of 125K KBB says about $9K at a dealer.)
Don't believe anything the dealer tells you. If you proceed be sure to have a good mechanic examine the car before buying.
I'll try to wait for them to lower the price. Otherwise, I was thinking I might get a cheap Honda Navi and just commute to work as affordable as I can while maintaining my 2010 Yaris. Thanks!
