So the pic is of a mustang 2012 and the power steering looks like this colour and im new to this so just wondering if need to change.
And can anyone also suggest whether the transmission fluid has to be changed ? Cause the car is at 68000 miles
Put a few drops on a paper towel to look at the color. If it's reddish/pinkish, then it's fine. If it's discolored to like a brownish color, then change it out. From the picture, it looks a bit on the brownish side, but do what I said to properly see the color.
Any power steering fluid from an auto parts store will work (or even ATF since they're basically the same thing).
Thanks a lot will surely do. The issue is when i turn it has a bit of a squeak sound at low speeds below 10 mph above that no issue while turning thanks again
Also if anyone know which power steering fluid does mustang use woulf be helpful its a v6 3.7L btw
Pretty sure you use Mercon V for the power steering and transmission. If I were you, I would change the power steering fluid now using the turkey baster method. I would do a drain and fill on the transmission and continue doing that every 20000 miles.
Thanks
Btw which company mercon v ? Have any specifications ?
The ones available on amazon now are from motocraft
