Hi Scotty, I have an 07 matrix and I just passed 60k miles (automatic). I'm wondering if I should change the transmission fluid now or is it not really necessary. Also my TPMS system keeps popping up even though I checked the tires and they are fine. Any quick fixes for that?.
Definitely change it now (drain and fill). Be sure to change about every 40,000 miles or so.
Yes, change it, and filter as well if your trans has one that's easily replaceable.
The batteries in your TPMS sensors are probably dead after 15 years. The "quick fix" is to install new batteries or sensors, which requires unmounting the tires from their rims.

Obviously OEM is the safest bet but a quality aftermarket filter should be OK.
