[Solved] Should I flush my coolant before installing my new radiator hoses or after?

I ordered some new radiator hoses for my 09 Corolla Base model as they are soft and worn. I recently purchased it so I can't give a maintenance history but the radiator is new and the tubes are old and worn so I'm wondering if its better to do a flush before or after the replacement of the hoses.

While changing the hose you will lose a god amount of coolant in the process. I would pull the old hoses, but a flushing kit (they are around $20) flush out the coolant system and then reinstall the new hose. Take great care to make sure when you refill the cooling system that there are not air bubbles in the system.

That would explain it. I would follow the other members advice. Good Luck.

unless the previous owner put in some sealer because the head gasket was leaking, it should do no harm to flush it.

Seems young for Toyota hoses to be failing, hoses on my 96 Chevy truck and 10 Jeep Jk are fine. You must have very high miles.

It's at 180k and I'm pretty sure it was in a wreck the previous owner obscured from insurance. The vanity cover for the engine is also missing and some of the hose clamps were missing so the repair guy obviously mickey moused the whole thing. I had to buy a set of body pins too, because the front and back bumper keep detaching on the side. I did pay a lot lower than market price and I see why, but I had a good mechanic look it over and the hoses were definitely getting very soft.
