Good Morning Scotty!!! Love your channel!!! I currently have a '14 Ram 1500 with 119,000 miles. I love the truck because it's a beast with the 5.7 HEMI and sounds amazing with the muffler off. It's really cool and wicked fun to drive. But I'm worried about the 8hp70 transmission. I've noticed sometimes randomly it feels like it will flutter at high speeds. Some have suggested it's when the ECO mode kicks on. I watch your videos all the time and know you're not keen on Chrysler/FIAT products. Are the 8hp70 transmissions good ones, when do they start breaking down? should I run away from my Ram 1500, I have been looking at 2014-2015 Lexus IS250's and IS350's. Please help! Thanks
The drivetrains normally aren't the problem with the Rams. It is usually everything else like the bells and whistles that start to go out.
If I were you, I would probably start looking for something else and be ready to get out of it before the 150k mark rolls around. After that point you start to have some problems that are going to cost a bit of money to repair.
