In a recent video, I see that Scotty recommends to use Lubegard red as extra protection for automatic transmission. I have a 2007 Toyota Hilux with 230000km automatic with slight delay in shifting gears under hard acceleration ( Around 1-2 sec delay). Fluid have been changed by previous owner but since I got it I did multiple short changes and the fluid turns from dim red to bright red. Should I use this on my next fluid and filter change? I change every 30000km.
I would it's a very good additive but of course unfortunately it's more of a preventative than anything else once things are already worn that they're not going to fix that
My independent toyota shop swears by lubegard shudder fix. All their products are good. I use the BG products in all our Lexus toyotas also.
Saab used to recommend it for their hydraulically-controlled automatic transmissions to prevent parts in the valve body from sticking.
