Greetings mr kilmer, I've a 1999 toyota starlet-Glanza (4efte) with 297,567 on the odo. the coil and igniter are bolted together on the fire wall from the distributor. did some test with my test light then pulled the coil wire which leads to the distributor, tried cranking but no spark from the coil. i replaced the coil and the same issue came back. what could cause the coil to short?
will change the coil to distributor wire as well.

It's probably the igniter, not the coil. Very expensive.
