Skoda Foreman - seeping water in footwell - right hand drive car

Hey Scotty.

I have an 25 year old Skoda Foreman, it's basically a Skoda Favorit but it's the Estate version. It used to be my grandfather's car and to me it has sentimental value. Its YOM is 1995.

The car runs fine, it doesn't have any issues, however, when it rains heavily, water seeps in the driver's footwell. The car has no sunroof or anything fancy like that. The water seeps in from under the dashboard on the far right. My car is right hand drive. The windscreen rubber is still in good shape, it's not cracked or anything of the sort. My mechanic jagged up the car to see if he can spot a hole or a missing grommet but all seems fine. Do you have any slightest idea why the water seeps in? Shall I try replacing the windscreen rubber just in case? Or do you think debris half-clogged the drain canals, and when it rains heavy, the water fills up and seeps in from under the dashboard? I live in Malta (a small island in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea) and it doesn't rain that much, but sometimes when it rains, it rains cats and dogs.

Unfortunately, my solution at the moment is that, when rain is forecast, I leave a bucket under the dash and let the water seep in the bucket instead of the footwell.

Let me know what you think please.

Thanks for your time.

Best Regards,

Winston
