He said the Spark was OK because it was made by GM Korea. Thruth be told it is still a hunk of junk. The Sonic and Dart are even worse. Don't buy one, they are horrible cars. Check out the used car buying guide (FAQ) if your looking to buy a vehicle. Toyota and Honda make much better vehicles. The best competitor would be imo the Honda Fit and Toyota Yaris (which is actually now a Mazda).
The car may last up to a 100000 miles or so. A better choice might be a Honda fit, or if you're willing to go bigger a civic or Corolla. Depending on your desires late model mazdas such as the 3 are not bad vehicles (latter year models.).
