Sequoia remote sets off panic alarm

So we have a toyota sequoia 2010 and out of no where, every time we try to lock the car with the key fob it just beeps and then goes in panic for some reason. How can i fix this?

My guess, barring other indications, is that you have a problem with your key fob - after all, it's had 10 years of bouncing around in pocket/purse.

Have you ever changed the battery in the key fob? The way that era of Toyota's key fobs are built, (I have one), they could get dirt inside that would cause problems - clean it when you replace the battery. Has it gotten wet recently?


Oh ok thanks, we just bought the vehicle and I myself out of nowhere just normally locked it but instead made that noise.

Probably a glitchy remote. Do you have a backup to test?
