Hi Scotty
I have a 2016 Ford Cmax Sel hybrid with only 14,500 miles and my brake pedal dropped and soften up. I used my blue driver scan tool and I get three generic codes
U3003, U0293, and U0231. U3003 relates to the Anti-lock brake module. All seem to be Low 12-volt battery issues. the dealer at first told me that the brakes were fine and I insisted they were wrong and then I showed them the scan with the codes, The service manager then indicated that the brake master cylinder and booster would need replacing. My car sat in their lot ( June 8th, 21 to June 22nd, 21 ) for two weeks because of replacement parts issues. Now they tell me not until July 21. I just took the car home, It still stops fine. I've watched several youtube videos that indicate the 12-volt battery could cause many of these issues in Hybrid cars.
I wish I could get to you and let you do a video on this type of failure. At this point, I'm at the mercy of the dealer because it's still under an extended Ford warranty. Your thought Scotty.
try getting your battery+alternator tested
Hi
Thanks for the response. I took the car in on the 18th of August 2021, after many delays because of parts, It's still At Ford of Queens NY current as of August 27th, 2021.
