Hi,
I have honda jazz(fit) 2016, 1.3, 102 hp, 47000 km.
When accelerating or going uphill, i hear soft knocking that remains when cruising at high speeds...what could be the reason for that?..also as the weather is getting colder, i noticed the car is using more fuel, is that normal?
Thanks in advance
Are you using the correct grade of fuel for your vehicle, as per the owner’s manual?
If you are, have you tried changing petrol stations?
hi,
yes, i am using the highest grade (Super 98 E5..these grades are what we have in Germany). I used the Super 95 E5 but the performance was not the best and consumption was more. According to the manual the car can handle fuel of 95 E10.
sorry i missed the second question...changing the petrol station made a difference but still in the cold days, i notice this knocking
Hmm, in some parts of the world, the winter blend is known to reduce fuel economy. But that shouldn’t affect the way your engine performs. Have you tried tuning up the engine as per the owner’s manual maintenance section? If you’re using regular copper spark plugs, they’re due for a change at 40,000 kms.
hi,
the spark plugs are of Laser Iridium Type.....but what kind of tuning is possible and may help?
If you perform 10,000 kms interval engine oil changes, the only thing I can think of is the engine air filter. Have you tried changing brands of petrol? Did that make any difference? Like for example, from an Esso to Shell.
i changed the air filter 4 days ago...but you are totally right about the fuel...i filled again this time more that half the tank with the fuel from the new brand (i used Aral ..it is one of the brands in Germany)..this is the second time i fill it with this brand....i think it needed to get rid of the old fuel to get better...thanks a lot the fuel solution was the correct the one.
I’m glad you fixed your pinging problem! Thanks for reporting back with the fix.
