My friend´s cousin has just bought a 2008 or 2009 Volkswagen Scirocco, 2.0 TSI, 147 kW, with allegedly 130,000 kilometres on the odometre, from Germany.

I say, why?????

Before this his daily was a 2012 Audi A4 Avant, 2.0 TDI, 125 kW. He ended up selling it after only about 6 months or so since it was very expensive to repair. The price was 12,000 € ....and you still don´t get a quality vehicle that doesn´t break down. 

He even said certain parts  that were in need of replacement turned out to be "patented" by Audi - you could just go and buy only at the dealership. 

Even though I´m European, I just don´t understand all the hype about Volkswagens. Over here a lot of people buy them because of "German quality". On the other hand, the quality of VW has gone downhill over the years. Mainly young people who buy cars like the Golf R, Octavia RS, Leon FR or any Audi (generally told) drive the cars hard, don´t have the money for repairs - these cars are in horrible condition.

A question then springs to mind: Why do Europeans, mainly youngsters, have such a distorted view of Volkswagen? I guess they just wanna look cool (no offense, ofc).
