2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer EXT. 189,465 miles. I purchased it used in March from my brother in law who is a auto mechanic. When I first start my car the ac blows cool for a few minutes then it slowly starts to get warm. It has made this summer miserable. Can you please let me know if there is any good cheap fixes that I can try?    Thank you for your time today.

That vehicle is nearly 20 years old so it could be a lot of things. Very likely is low on refrigerant. Could also be cooling fan(s) for the condenser not working.

In general there are no cheap, quick fixes for air conditioning. Attempting such short-cuts can cause more problems. It requires proper diagnosis. Since your brother-in-law who sold the Trailblazer to you is a mechanic he should certainly be able to diagnose the AC system for you.

Please do yourself a big favor and take it to an automotive AC specialist for proper diagnosis and repair.

It’s none of my business, but can’t he help out a family member?

Did it do it from the time you purchased the vehicle or only recently?
