I have a 2016 Acura ILX Would purchasing aftermarket spark plugs and ignition work fine on my vehicle or is it best to purchase OEM for those parts
I have a 2016 Acura ILX Would purchasing aftermarket spark plugs and ignition coils work fine on my vehicle or is it best to purchase OEM for those parts and which on do I install first or does it matter.
Always purchase coils from the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). I would disconnect the negative battery cable before messing with anything electrical for good measure, especially with ignition components.
I second @itwt, are you experiencing drivability issues? Any codes for troubleshooting? Replacing coil packs is an expensive endeavor and shouldn't be done willy-nilly.
spark plugs are incredibly simple, 165 year old devices so it doesn't matter . As long as they're gapped correctly for your vehicle, and good quality.
Just buy NGK plugs or Denso...
