Hello Scotty,
I have 2012 Ford F150 with 240000 km on it. A while ago I took the car for transmission (6 speed automatic) software update at the dealership
couple days after I noticed that my speedometer starts at 1500 rpm not at zero anymore it works it just starts from 1500. Of 'course dealer
said one has nothing to do with the other. Maybe coincidence not ruling it out. My question is can it be fixed by software or is it mechanical, like
perhaps the needle moved on the pin or ? I'm just baffled how it happened. The truck runs very well I own it from brand new. Did my whole timing
chain, phasers basically the whole front end of the engine is new. want to keep it for few little bit longer. That needle just bothers me a little bit.
What would be your diagnosis on this. Please and Thank you.
Chris
Well from my experience that means the tachometer in your dash is broken the one that shows RPMs isn't the speedometer of course it's the tachometer and they just break that's very common you'd have to replace the tachometer part of the dash which cost a lot of money
