I have a 2009 Audi A4 Quattro with 118,000 miles on it and it has the automatic with the sport shift. A problem started the other day when downshifting with the sport stick it sounds like a 18 wheeler downshifting. Kinda loud noise. It has always been no noise at all when down shifting till recent. Upshifting is perfectly quite as expected. I really would like to see how serious of a problem this is.

Realize Audis are endless money pits as they age and you're probably having transmission failure starting to occur. If you price would it cost to rebuild one of those transmission you will probably sell your car as fast as you can but the good news is people are getting high dollar for used cars these days
