I bought a 2007 Toyota Matrix with 94k miles 4 weeks ago, and have put 1k miles on it, mostly highway. 2 weeks ago it started to sputter and shake badly on the highway at 65 MPH. It lasted for 10 minutes or so and went away. No codes show up on my scan tool. A mechanic suggested it was bad gas, so I put some dry gas in the tank 400 miles ago. Since then, the problem has persisted: usually, but not always around 60 MPH, it sputters and shakes (very noticeably in the steering wheel) for 10 minutes or so and then goes away. Any ideas about what's causing this?
Pressure test the fuel pump. You may have a weak fuel pump.
