My f150 2011 Ecoboost with a new timing chain and water pump 2000 $
has been sitting in the garage for 11 weeks what should I do to start it up?
Can I push in the gas pedal in which sends it into flood mode and crank the engine. To get the gf6 oil to the top of the engine?
Please put new questions in their own new topic. Thanks!
I thought I did what did it go into.
It was added to your previously-posted topic. No big deal, it's an easy mistake to make.
I would find a way to disable the ignition system (fuse, breaker, etc.), and fuel pump, turn the engine over with the starter until the oil pressure light goes out, re-enable the ignition and fuel pump and start it up.
Hi.
There is a Ford technician on YouTube that advocates the 'flood mode' method. The way i understand it is it allows oil pressure to build before the engine fires.
I suspect you know how this works but for those that do not i will post the link.
Thanks this flood mode is a lot easier than take the fuses out and crank. I was doing the fuse thing before I had the chain and pump replaced. The chain clatter got very bad.
