Stellantis Jeep Auto Stop Start Fault

Dear Scotty,

My wife has a 2018 Jeep Wrangler with 75,000 miles on it and last night there was a new idiot light on the dashboard.  It is a letter 'A' with a circle around it and an exclamation point after it.  I believe it is an Auto Stop Start system fault.

Reading online, it could be a battery problem tripping the fault.

I replaced the main battery two years ago.  I believe there is another battery in the system for electronic controls, which I have not replaced.

Where do I start with this one?

Thank you and drive safely!

You’ll probably need at least a mid level scan tool (one that scans more than just check engine light, but all systems). That might tell you the fault and some will even give you a link to suggested fixes.  Otherwise, take it to a good autoelectric guy.

Well that's a very complex systems, but you can easily have the battery and alternator load tested and pray it's that because if not it's going to be one gigantic pain in the wazoo unless you are high level mechanic with a very expensive scan tool
