2006 Nissan Frontier truck owned in NO inspection state of Kansas ... My catalytic converters were stolen so I temporarily put in a piece of pipe ... Will this cause any harm in the long run? Seems to run fine with no CEL on yet. Please advise. Thank you Scotty.
Well you're going to get Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold codes pretty soon as the downstream O2 sensor voltages mirror the upstream O2 sensor voltages but it won't hurt your engine. The cat isn't there to help the engine run. It's there to control emissions

........... but only certain states do inspections ... the Feds are ******
Legally, you can not drive your car without catalytic converter but mechanically, as @jack62 mentioned, your car runs ok.
