Hello. I have a 2010 KIA Ceed with 145K km. or about 90 K miles. The KIA mechanic recommends that I use 10W 40. It uses about 1 liter every 1,500 km. or 1 quart every 900 miles. Should I use the STP Oil Additive? I did use it the previous oil change and it did help a little as far as reducing oil consumption. The additive is thick like honey so I understand why STP recommends putting it in a hot engine. Plus I drive for at least a few more minutes soon after so it can mix with the other oil. Thank U to anyone who answers this question.
No you don't want to put too much in. You don't want the oil too thick but if you put one or two in and it works okay. Just realize the engine is wearing out it eventually. It would need rebuilding or just getting another car that's better made
