I have a 1999 Voyager with 190k miles. I know it’s not worth repairing the severely rusted front strut mount, but I’m curious as to what a fair price might be. The whole thing’s rusted out and the car’s unsafe to drive. How much should I spend on this, provided I decide to keep the thing?
If the whole thing is rusted out, each and every metal piece will have to be replaced, primered, and then painted. This means completely disassembling the van to replace the panels that are completely rotted out and sanding down the salvageable ones to bare metal and repairing rust holes. Getting this done at a professional shop with all the correct supplies and labor, I reckon it'll cost at least $8,000. You shouldn't spend even 5% of that on that Voyager - once the frame rots away, it's time to say goodbye to the van.
Just let it go. It would cost you more than the van is worth to make it right.
