I plea from the UK: The rear doorlock on my 2006 SKODA OCTAVIA (Czech made but with VW parts) will not open from either inside or outside. I've got the door card off but cannot reach the mechanism as the inner door panel is in the way. I've thumped and dumped whilst operating the inner/outer handles to no avail. I could take it to a garage but I can't see how even they can do it. I'm stumped!

Well too bad you're in Europe if you were in Rhode Island to Tennessee I do it for free. You just have to get to the latch assembly and disconnect the automatic part and then manually unlocked it is a pain in the butt but you have the card off that's the hardest part.
