Hello community, here's my story

Bought a 2001 Subaru Forester with 285,000 miles for $400, wouldn't roll forward. So I changed the CV joints and it still skips. noise is coming from the front diff, the same thing happened to my 99 legacy but NOT THIS BAD I changed out the transmission and all was fine after that. Is there anything different that I need to know about the process, bc my legacy was a stick, this Forester is automatic. Is there anything I need to do to the torque converter at all. Please let me know I'd appreciate it. Love the site been my favorite go to for all my ?s

Well unfortunately if the automatic transmission or torque converters go out on a Subaru as they cost a fortune but pray it's a torque converter that's a lot cheaper than the transmission only a pro could take it apart and tell you what's broken though
