Hi scotty. My 2000 econoline e250 suddenly started lightly pounding while I was driving. Check fluids: all good. Check Air intake filter is clean. Tried reading ecm codes, My monitor won't even turn on...when I turned off then restarted the van it had a rough start. Could it be the ecm, the sensors or the fuel system?

It could be many things. You can start with simple things, change the air filter, spark plugs, cleaning the MAF sensor and throttle body, but you need to figure out why the OBD port is not working. Have you tried another scan tool?
