Hello Scotty hope your well private sale

I just bought a Suzuki grand vitara 2001 xl7 2.7  lt

Drove from nsw to Vic Australia test drive seemed OK

But now I noticed noise from timing chain cover or there abouts only when motor is at operating temperature no codes come up

My question is can I change this without removing sump or rocker covers have to do it myself as I'm a disability pensioner and don't have a lot of cash any advice will be well appreciated

Ps my kids love your channel as do i

Got them interested in something other than xbox

Especially one of my twin boys who has autism gives him focus

Thank you scotty

If you're getting noise from the cover, the timing chain system needs to replaced as a complete kit to include tensioners, sprockets, chains and guides, along with new gaskets.  It is a big job.  Replacing just the tensioners just won't get the job done.

Well, unfortunately you have to remove quite a few parts to get to that timing chain. Tensioner. Realize there are two of them. One on each side. The labor cost here in the United States is over 1,400 to do that job. So you might live with it. It takes over 12 hours
