I drive a beautiful 2012 Honda accord EXL, unfortunately my younger brother overheated it and blew the head gasket.. the family mechanic recommended we change the engine entirely how ever I cannot source another r20 engine here in Jamaica, so I have 2 options available and thats a k20 or k24 engine swap. Whats your thoughts? I'd really appreciate your opinion on the matter.

Just get the head rebuilt and install it with a new head gasket. Tell your "mechanic" to pound sand, in Jamaica.
