Hello, I have an '01 3.9l V6 dodge dakota at 110,338 miles. Great truck for the most part and I have done most of the work on it myself since I have gotten it. I was driving on the highway and it threw a p0303 cylinder 3 misfire code. I cleared the code and threw some Lucas injector cleaner in it even though I got a full tune up less than a year ago, figuring it was worth a shot. About a week later, traveling on the highway again, a differentcode, p0300 random misfire, showed up. I checked for vacuum leaks, appear to have none, listened for any bad noises and it seems to sound very smooth. I notice no symptoms at all with this and it's driving me crazy. I'm scared to drive it but I'm in school for Mechatronics right now so I need to. Again, it has had a tune up recently. Maybe a fuel pump? What do you think?
There is a Misfire Sticky under FAQ. Try there first (Scotty’s videos there):
