Toyota rattles on cold start

I have a 2013 Toyota that makes a brief engine knock/rattle noise on cold start. This is due to a pin on the cam shaft not engaging due to low oil pressure. I have seen suggestions to install a pre-lube system. The systems are no longer available (ex. amsoil pre-charge). I was considering temporarily disabling the ignition system and have the starter do the pre-lube. Problem is that there would be a trouble code generated. Is there a way to do this and have the code cancel on startup?

The car is 2013 Toyota Corolla with 50,000 miles and it is an automatic. No codes.

a block heater would at least get oil to the camshaft quicker

Are you sure this isn't a timing chain problem?
