Hey Scotty. I traded my 2013 Highlander into a 2022 NX350 F Sport. What do you think about the new 2.4L turbo engine that this car has? They said it will replace all toyota/lexus that has the v6 with this engine and a lot of people are saying it will not be as reliable as the v6s. What's your thought?
Although Toyota makes good engines but the fact is the turbocharged engines can not last as long as naturally aspirated ones without spending money on repairs. One thing you can do to get the most out of that engine is to change the oil frequently with synthetic oil.
Hopefully Toyota has beefed up that engine to take the pressure of the turbocharger. If so the engine can last quite a long time, however the turbocharger itself is a wear item that will be expensive to replace when it fails. Frequent oil changes with a quality synthetic oil can help extend its life.
